Dennis Kimbro, author of
Think and Grow Rich
is speaking at
the Spiritual Empowerment Center
"The schoolboy who sees himself as an F student, or one who is 'not very good in mathematics,' will surely find that his report card bears him out.
In the same manner, a young woman who is always 'unable to land that certain position' or 'to earn a lucrative income' will also find that her experiences tend to prove her self-image correct. Because of this overly subjective 'proof,' it seldom occurs to people that their troubles lie in their self-image or their own evaluation of themselves.
The self-image can be changed."
~ from Think and Grow Rich

Spring to Life III
Triumph(ant)!
Deletta Gillespie CD Release and Benefit Concert Saturday, May 18, 2013, 4 - 7PM
Spring to Life
is an annual concert event created by singer/songwriter and performing artist Deletta Gillespie, founder of NuRelik Performance Workshop in Baltimore, MD. The concert series raises funds and awareness for a specific non-profit or charity each year. This year's benefit concert coincides with Deletta Gillespie's CD release entitled
TRIUMPH(ant).
The CD is a collection of songs about living and loving and surviving and thriving beyond one's circumstances. The music is an eclectic mix of genres - afro-celt, jazz, r&b, rock, reggae, and dance. Ninety percent of the music was recorded live.
The beneficiary of this year's event is
The Samaritan Women, a residential facility in Baltimore dedicated to the long-term care and support of survivors of human trafficking. The Samaritan Women is the only residential facility of its kind on the eastern seaboard.
The band is composed of heavyweights from the Baltimore region - Nick Costa (drums), Mitchell Coates (bass), Kentrell Harris (keys), Paul McKeown (guitar) and composer/guitarist Kevin Jackson is the musical director. Jackson has also released a CD this past year,
Stories in Color and has received airplay at radio stations across the country.
Opening acts include powerhouse singer/songwriters
Teporah Bilezikian (adult contemporary), and
Ama Chandra (r&b,jazz, brazilian, adult contemporary).
The concert is on Saturay, May 18 from 4:00 - 7:00 pm on the grounds of The Samaritan Women, 602 S. Chapel Gate Lane, Baltimore, MD, 21229. It's a picnic vibe, so bring your lawnchairs and Frisbees! Food will be available. Can't come to the show but want to help out? Feel free to go to www.GoFundMe.com/Deletta-Triumphant and make a donation. A $15 donation will get you an autographed CD and your name engraved on a brick that will build the new vocational center on the grounds of The Samaritan Women. Are you one of Deletta's friends that lives overseas but still want to contriubute? Go to www.delettagillespie.net and click on "Donate" to make a donation. Additional proceeds go to the Spiritual Empowerment Center, Baltimore, a member of the Centers for Spiritual Living.
